The Fortwo's tall shape creates ample headroom and legroom for two passengers, while the floating design of its dash adds to the cabin's sense of spaciousness. The Smart's rear cargo area is smaller than that of a sub-compact but is large enough to swallow a bag of golf clubs. For further cargo flexibility, the passenger seat folds flat to carry additional items. ExteriorWith its almost toy-like size and shape, the Smart Fortwo looks like nothing else on the road. The Smart Fortwo has a tall profile, doors that take up the majority of its sides, and a long wheelbase relative to the car's actual length. Body panels are made of dent-resistant plastic, a plus for the shopping cart-laden urban environments for which the Smart is intended. Under the HoodThe 2014 Smart Fortwo is powered by a 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder Mitsubishi engine that makes 70 horsepower. That isn't a lot of power, but at less than 1,900 pounds, the Smart doesn't have much mass to move. The engine is located in the rear of the Smart and, unlike most other small cars of its ilk, drives the rear wheels. The transmission is an automatic. Highway fuel economy on the Smart is rated up to 38 mpg. Personal Details I am the second owner of this car. I bought it in February 2018 for my wife of 35 years, who thought she "wanted a little car to go back and forth to the grocery store." I bought the car from a local dealer and had it fully inspected and serviced at Mercedes Benz in Plano, TX. I also had $1200 worth of new tires and wheels put on it. And she never drove it. It has been garage-stored and the 500 miles I've put on it in the last 14-months just don't justify us keeping it. The body has some marks/scrapes from the first owner, but overall the car is in very good shape and runs fantastic (as you'd expect for low miles with new tires).I have bought and sold many vehicles on eBay and have perfect feedback. I have owned this for about 6 years. My wife used it for her work/school car until she retired, then I used it for my work car a couple of years.Now we are both retired and I have to cut down on the number of cars and trucks I have and this is one of the ones I've decided to sell. It runs great and has almost new tires, I have a second set of tires (sipped, winter tires) that are available if you would like to buy them also. Everything works, power windows, door locks, manual seats, you can shift the transmission or leave it up to the computer. Holds about 8.5 gallons of premium gas and only takes 3.5 quarts of Mobil 1 to change the oil. It has a nick in the drivers seatback that I put in when I got in with a file in my back pocket (oops), other than that the upholstery is very good. I had the fan motor replaced last fall and it's good for about another thousand miles before its due for an oil change.
